The folk ensemble agrees to the following :
* Must be composed of at least 20 people, out of which 18 must be artists, and of at the most 35 people, out of which 32 must be artists. The number of artists includes dancers and musicians.
* Must be composed of musicians.
* Must have sufficient experience to participate in an event of international renown and a diversified artistic workbook which cumulates a time of at least 90 minutes.
* Must cover the cost of international return airfare between their home country and the Montréal International Airport.
* Must cover the cost of any extension of stay outside of the activities planned by the Mondial des Cultures.
* Must undertake, when appropriate, procedures to obtain Canadian visas and pay for it.
* Must sign and adhere to a contractual agreement with the Mondial des Cultures.
* Must provide a deposit of $1,000 Canadian to guarantee the group’s participation. This amount will be refunded upon the group’s departure from Drummondville.
* Must be in Drummondville two days prior to the beginning of official activities.
* Must cover the cost of any sightseeing outside Drummondville.
* Must possess a travel insurance covering medical expenses and/or hospitalization
The Mondial des Cultures is committed to :
* Provide lodging for all participants in dormitories. The folk ensembles invited to the Mondial stay at a lodging center with various accommodations. Participants have access to a cafeteria, laundry room, first aid clinic, rehearsal rooms, gymnasium, game rooms, indoor pool, and a variety of recreational activities (bicycles, sports grounds).
* Provide meals.
* Provide transportation between the Montréal International Airport and Drummondville, and transportation within the city of Drummondville.
* Provide first aid services.
* Cover the production costs for the shows.
* Pay a per diem of five Canadian dollars per artist, per day of activity at the Mondial des Cultures.
* Sign and adhere to a contractual agreement with the folk ensemble.
* Comply with regulations and policies of C.I.O.F.F. and I.O.V.
Documents required by the selection committee :
* The above registration form.
* A video tape (PAL or NTSC format) showing the dances repertoire. The video tape is mandatory in order to have your file submitted to the selection committee.
* The history of the group.
* A description of the repertoire of dances, music, and songs.
* A list of festivals and major events the group participated in both in its country and abroad. Please include coordinates and details of these festivals.
* Photographs, flyers, and posters.
* Musical recordings.

The selection process :
The selection committee’s mission consists of finding dynamic amateur ensembles of top artistic level, and to make sure that a variety of countries as well as regions are presented to our audience.
The selection committee selects the countries to be invited. It then looks at the documents and material the ensembles have submitted.
Formal invitations are sent to selected ensembles, between September and November for the following year.
Groups that are not selected receive a notice during the Fall.
